The wolverine is the largest member of the weasel family. They reach up to 4 feet in length (1.2 m) and about 60 lbs. (27kg) in weight. They resemble a large badger or a miniature bear. Wolverines have a short and thick coat of fur, dark brown in color, with a pale band on each side of its body and face, along with a thick bushy tail.

Wolverines are found in forests of Europe, Asia, and North America. They prey on small mammals and birds, carrion, and will drive other predators away from their own kills. As remarkably strong creatures, they have been known to drive bears away from their food and even kill reindeer. For this reason, they are profusely hunted by man.

The wolverine eats more than any other carnivore, which is why they are also known as the glutton. They are remarkable creatures because their strength dramatically outweighs their size.
