Closely related to the loris, the potto lives in African rain forests from
Guinea to east-central Africa, north of the Zaire River. It is a compact,
fairly aggressive animal 14 to 16 in. (36 to 40 cm) long, with a short tail
and weighing about 3 kg (1.4 kg). The potto has thick, normally dark brown,
woolly fur, round ears, and large, round eyes.
