Famous for its musical song, the nightingale is a species of small perching bird. A shy creature, this bird usually sings at night.

They live in thick woodland undergrowth, scrub, and damp marshy spots where insects are plentiful. It feeds mainly on the ground, eating worms, spiders and insects. Fruit and berries are also taken.

The female builds a thick nest of dead leaves, lining it with grass and hair. Nightingales lay 4 to 5 eggs.

Many monkeys, like the spider monkey, use their tail like an extra arm. This way they can hang from a branch and still have their hands free for eating.
