EMU

Phylum:
Class:
Order:
Family:
Species:
Chordata
Aves
Casuariiformes
Dromaiidae
Dromaius novaehollandiae

These animated creatures are tall and flightless birds of Australia. The Emu grows to a height of nearly 6.5 feet (2 m) and is only rivaled in size by the (unrelated) ostrich. Emus are found in desert, plains, and forests in most parts of Australia.

Outside the breeding season, they live in nomadic flocks. They raid crops and waterholes, and farmers consider them a pest. There were once several other species of emu, however, they have all been wiped out by man. The male emu builds the nest, incubates the eggs, and raises the young.

Bush dogs don't live in bushes but they do live among bushes. A short tail and a small, thick body make it easy for the bush dog to move about in the undergrowth, as well as in its underground home.
